Welcome to Ishaia's Mandala Pages

I have recently begun exploring the artistic, creative and spiritual aspects of making and viewing mandalas. Mandalas are typically circular in shape, and are often used as tools for meditation. The concept is many centuries old, yet lots of modern artists are creating new interpretations of this ancient art form. Mandalas can be found in Buddhist traditions, as well as many other aboriginal/shamanic traditions, such as Native American, African or Aboriginal Australian. This is a natural construct involving concentric rings of color, shapes and symbols. The intent of this design is to draw the eye inward to the center of the image, which helps to "center" the viewer and create a quiet mind ready for meditation or shamanic journeys.
